Our Story
People often ask why I started Faith Based.
The answer really begins with cancer.
I’ve always had faith. I was raised to believe in God, and throughout my life I have leaned on that faith during both good times and difficult ones. But there is something about hearing the words, “You have cancer,” that changes you.
When I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, my world stopped.
Suddenly, all the things that seemed important before didn’t matter nearly as much. Plans, schedules, worries, goals, and distractions all took a back seat to one question:
What truly matters?
During some of the hardest days of my life, I found myself leaning on God in a way I never had before. My faith wasn’t something I practiced on Sundays. It became something I needed every single day.
Faith carried me through the fear.
Faith carried me through the uncertainty.
Faith carried me through chemotherapy, surgery, recovery, and all the moments in between.
There were days when I didn’t know what the future would look like. There were days when I was scared. There were days when all I could do was pray and trust that God was still with me.
And He was.
That journey changed me.
It strengthened my faith. It changed my perspective. It reminded me that life is a gift, that every day matters, and that our relationship with God is worth more than anything this world can offer.
After coming through that experience, I wanted to build something that reflected what had carried me through it.
That is how Faith Based was born.
Faith Based is more than a clothing brand. It is a way to share the truth, hope, and encouragement found in God’s Word.
Every design is centered around Scripture because God’s Word has power. A verse on a shirt may encourage the person wearing it, speak to someone passing by, or start a conversation that points someone toward Jesus Christ.
To me, faith is not supposed to be hidden, watered down, or reserved for Sunday mornings. It is something we are called to live every day in the way we speak, the way we treat people, and the way we walk through life’s challenges.
Faith Based was created for believers who want their clothing to mean something. Not just another shirt. Not just another design. But a reminder of who we are, whose we are, and what we believe.
My cancer journey also taught me that faith should lead to action.
That is why a portion of every sale will be used to help people in need. Whether that means helping families facing hardship, supporting someone going through a difficult season, feeding the hungry, or meeting needs as they arise, giving back will always be a HUGE part of this mission.
I was given another chance at life.
I don’t want to waste it.
If Faith Based can encourage one person, strengthen someone’s faith, start one meaningful conversation, or remind someone that God has not forgotten them, then it is doing exactly what it was created to do.
Faith Based is more than clothing.
It is a reminder to live what you believe.
